Gregory Goyle does not die in the books but due to Jamie Waylett and a cannabis problem he was sentenced and not able to take part in the final Harry Potter film. Joshua Herdman announced that his character (Goyle) will die instead of Crabbe who just does not return to his final year at hogwarts.
