How did myths come to be?

Well like today people gather around campfires and tell stories over and over again. Now a days a lot of use books but back then campfire stories were a lot like books. Those stories were used to explain what man can not explain. That is how the Greek Gods came to be, a ton of myths from a really great story teller. So myths come from back before christ when like today curiOS story tellers tell those willing to hear stories about things they can not explain. Only the most famous ones are still in use today.
