check power to the window motor
by removing the door panel, apply power to two teminals and then reverse terminals window should go up and down when direct power is applied if so your motor is good, if not either a bad relay or a bad switch
ANSWER FROM ME
THAT IS DEFINITELY NOT the first step. ML320 window switch problems are usually not the motor - they are the switch -- at the console -- lots of info available at MB forums. There is copper in the switch and it bends/wears with time -- usually the drivers side. There are 2 options:
Take out the switch module and repair it [per MB forum member instructions]
Replace the module [it is in a bank of 4 - so you're replacing all the 'switches'].
You probably had stuttering of the window before it failed?
Here in MA -- mine failed this winter - -So I plugged in the hair dryer outside and just heated it up to get it "UP" -- and tried to remember not to use it.. But just like high school physics -- heat expands and voila! The switch component is not tooo expensive....
