Is world of tanks free

I am pretty sure that it is free since the advertisements says that it is free but I would reseach some where else if i were you P.S. sometimes thay can say it's free but limit stuff intill you pay :(

Playing with 7,8+ tier tanks going difficult without premium account. If you are bad, average player you will often loose credits after battle.
