Who is Thomas Jefferson Beale?

T. J. Beale is most well known for creating the "Beale cyphers" which are said to lead to about $10,000,000 in silver and gold. Beale first led a group of 29 men to Santa Fe area where they discovered a gold vain. him and his men mined for 18 months. In search of somewhere to store it all they hid the treasure in Virginia. Beale then gave a message to a good friend telling him where to find the treasure if he died.
