"Ideal" weight depends on the height and build of the bird. For cockatiels, the average weight is 85 - 95 grams. African greys have 2 subspecies--the Congo African grey is larger and the Timneh is smaller. There are MANY subspecies of Amazon parrots and a wide range of sizes. It is very difficult to give an "ideal" weight for these species. A qualified veterinarian who either specializes in birds or who is a certified avian practicioner is your best resource for determining the ideal weight of your bird!
