You're going to need some equipment if you plan on changing your oil:

Allen wrench - 12 or 14 mm, check on that

big pan to catch the old oil - these engines hold about 8 quarts

floor jack or some way to allow yourself to work under the car

9 quarts of oil

new oil filter

15 or 17mm wrench to get the oil filter cartridge off

Wear some old clothes that you don't care about ruining. I like to wear latex gloves while doing this job. Put some flattened cardboard underneath the car for possible oil spills.

Jack the car up, place that big oil pan underneath the car, crawl underneath with the Allen wrench and undo the Allen bolt on the bottom of the oil pan. Let all the oil drain, until there's a slight drip. Take apart the filter cartridge and let the oil drain. Clean out all of the old oil from the cartridge housing. After you replace the cartridge housing, using the new copper washers and O-ring you get in the oil filter kit, tighten it up, put the drain plug back in using the new copper washer.

With everything tightened up underneath, go to the top, take off the oil cap on the right valve cover and start pouring oil in. Check the dip stick while adding a bit more and more, until you reach the correct level. Do not ever overfill an engine with oil, it can blow your seals out.

After changing the oil, drive the car easy for the first 50 miles. And make sure you check for oil leaks after changing the oil.
