Concerta is an Amphetamine; it gives you energy while Opiate's do the opposite. Opiate's are things like Heroin, Opium, and Morphine while Amphetamine's are things like Concerta, MDMA, and Methamphetamine. If that doesn't make sense, think of it like this... During WWII, fatally wounded American soldiers were frequently given Morphine (opiate) in order to relieve pain for the few remaining minutes of their lives. If one of these soldiers were given a potent (highly concentrated; strong) amphetamine instead, that person might be able to continue fighting for a while. In fact, the Third Reich gave Methamphetamine to their Wehrmacht soldiers so that they could fight with super-human efficiency, coordination, and so they could fight around the clock.
