Tickets remain on your record forever as far as the police go. The points will expire usually after 3 years but this will vary from State to State. As far as insurance goes, most insurance companies rate for 3 years. Once the violation reaches 3 years old it will come off your insurance at the next renewal date. Tickets go on and off at renewal dates of the policy. Very rarely, some companies will use 5 years to rate a policy and not just 3 years but I would say 90% use 3 years.
