The purpose of a jumpdrive is to carry around a small portion of your computer's data right in your hands or your pocket. They are very helpful when traveling, and you can plug it into a hotel's computer (or any other computer with a USB connection).

They usually come in these sizes: 250 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB, and 24 GB--although you can get them in other sizes besides these.

Jumpdrives can hold anything from videos to music to documents or even voice recordings.

A general rule is that if you can save it to a hard drive, then you can usually save it to a jumpdrive.
