How do you get lapras in Pokemon gold?

Lapras can only be obtained on Friday's. You need a Pokemon that knows surf in order to get to it.Go to the first cave that you pass through in the game. There should be a ladder that leads to a basement level of the cave. Just look around down there and you should find it.
