Are carcharodontosaurus and giganotosaurus the same thing?

They are both large, carnivorous dinosaurs (comparable in size to T-rex.) They also both belong to the same family (Carcharodontosauridae), but they are members of different subfamilies. In other Words, they are similar but not the same thing.
