Why is there hyperreflexia in pre-eclampsia?

Hyperreflexia in pre-eclampsia is primarily due to increased central nervous system excitability caused by the underlying abnormalities in the regulatory mechanisms of blood pressure and vascular function. The condition leads to elevated levels of circulating catecholamines and neurogenic factors, which can enhance reflex arcs.
