Beowulf is fiction, so it didn't really take place at all.

The poem dates from the early Anglo-Saxon era, so think of it around the 5th century CE.

This is the dumbest answer i have ever heard, don't believe it!

The poem was written in the 8th century, where it took place was sometime before that, the 5t century i do believe.
