Chick-Fil-A franchises cost $10,000 (it used to be $5,000, but has recently changed).
You also have to commit to being a hands-on manager, being there all the time, and make it through a very strict application process. They only select a small portion of those who apply.
Chick-Fil-A (CFA) does not allow absentee franchisees. You MUST be there, in the shop, everyday (except Sundays; all CFAs are closed on Sundays by contract) in person.
CFA's franchise program is designed for people who REALLY want to work for themselves, and have precious little experience doing so. They hold your hand on everything. They'll even dictate the location of your shop. If you find such micromanagement to be infuriating, I would suggest walking on by. On the other hand, if you're poor, honest, resourceful, learn quickly on the job, and can scratch together the money to get in, then CFA just might be the shop for you.
