What do you do if your fish is alive but gets sucked up in the filter?

Stop the filter, open it in the water and RELEASE IT IMMEDIATELY! The fish has just gone through the filter and it is very stressed out. imagine being sucked up a giant vacuum cleaner! Clean the tank up an hour later and transfer the fish into a separate tank and check for signs of diseases over the next few weeks.
