Cocaine is manufuctured in various places, but normally in close proximity to it's natural source. This source is mostly in the foothills of the Andes Mountain Range of South America (usually between 500 and 1500 metres AMSL). This is where the leaves are picked off the Cocoa plant and dried in the sun. Bags of the said leaves are usually transported to a manufacturing facility nearby where up to 150kgs of cocoa leaves are used to produce a paste weighing about 1kg. A single leaf only consists of 0.3%-0.5% cocaine, but once the paste is formed, it is usually between 30%-80% cocaine.
