Does 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee have auxillary input for ipod?

I've got a 2003 Grand Cherokee Overland, and no it does not have an aux input. I wanted to pipe in my iPod so I tapped into the wires coming from the CD changer in the back. Mostly works good BUT sometimes the sound fades. Also you can turn volume down but cannot turn it up. Strange.... Anyway, it is a cheap way to "hard wire" an external device into the sound system. That said, I'm looking for a better way....
