Do worms harm trees

First isolate the plant so the issue does not spread to other plants. You can try rinsing the plant with a solution of dishsoap and water to remove worms from the plant. Immerse the pot in cold water, which may cause earthworms and others to leave. Then, repot the plant in fresh soil after removing any existing worms from the root ball. Be sure to thoroughly clean the pot and soak it in bleach water.
