How does the kick-down switch work?

The kick-down switch is a component in automatic transmissions that allows the driver to temporarily downshift to a lower gear for increased power and acceleration. When the driver presses the accelerator pedal beyond a certain point, the kick-down switch is activated, signaling the transmission to shift to a lower gear.
