Submitting poetry can be tricky if you do not have an agent. It is easier to get your work published at a small company versus a major publishing company who generally are interested in agented manuscripts. Authorhouse is a good website where you can upload or "publish" your work without having to go through the rigorous formalities. Otherwise your local librarian will have an idea of what you need to do to get your work published.
