How do you add percentages to another number?

To do this, you need to either make the other number a percentage or make your percantage a decimal. It is the same principal when adding anything. For example, you can add 2y and 5y together to get 7y. However, you can't add 2y and 5x. The answer would just be 2y + 5x.
