A cat's heat cycle is what people call the season or seasons when cats are ready to mate. This could last half a year. The female will arch her tail into a question-mark shape and make sweet, purring noises. She will become more affectionate towards her owners, and often will roll on the ground a lot, exposing her soft belly. When a male cat comes she might sniff his genitals or he might sniff hers, and if either of them "accepts," the female will duck low and the male will hop onto her.

A cat in heat is usually mistaken for being in pain. But honestly, being in heat is not painful for a cat. They're just... cats.
