I work at a Toyota service shop, Serviceadviser's make there money off recommendation's sure there are the tow In's that sometimes cough up the busted tranny or the blown engine but the bulk of the money is recommending service that should be done anyways. you just have to be able explain and put into Words that normal people can understand. I'm a newb but i been in the service area doing odd jobs for 5 years before i was given the opportunity to write. for the first 2 pay checks i was getting hourly until i got the hang of the position but after that i averaged 1800 each paycheck; around 1400 after tax. there are those periods where i pull in the 4000 check or the 3000, but that's pretty hard to accomplish with 12 other adviser's on your ass. so to answer the question....depending how busy your shop is and what type of area your in; (ie Upper class or middle class) u can average 40 to 60 thousand a year. Ive known a top adviser make 100 thousand in a year 2 years straight...(bastard)...lol
