"Glatte Grasnatter" is a German equivalent of "American grass snake" (Opheodrys vernalis).
This North American native is known for habitat preferences in the moist meadows and open woodlands of the northern United States of America and in the Canadian provinces of the East, Quebec and Ontariio. It also is known for its food preferences in the insect world. Specifically, this bright green reptile favors preying upon such insects as smooth spineless caterpillars, grasshoppers and crickets. But it also extends its predatory activities to Spiders.
