Ringworm is a skin condition. Despite the name, it's not caused by a worm, but rather by any of several different species of fungi.

The formal term is "dermatophytosis"; ringworm, athlete's foot, and jock itch are all alternative names for this. Which term is used depends mostly on where the condition is: for example, if it's on the feet, it will probably be called "athlete's foot".
