If your periods are lasting longer than normal (much longer) then you could have a hormone imbalance or low iron. If you're a vegetarian it's not uncommon.

However, if you're on a contraceptive pill then it is unusual - doctors use the pill to regulate hormones so you can become regular again.

Either way if it's lasting that long you need to see your doctor as it's not normal, and extended blood loss is going to make you weak and sick if you don't do something. A blood test is the only way to tell what's happening, and to give your doctor the information required to fix it.
