How far away from a school must a drug dealer be?

Under US Federal law, drug crimes within 1000 feet of school property ... not just the school itself ... can be punished more harshly (usually double or triple the normal penalties). In at least one state, the zone extends to school buses and any area immediately adjacent to a school bus as well.
