Who is the President of Israel?

Shimon Peres is the current President of the state of Israel. Peres was elected by the Knesset (the Israeli Parliament) for the presidency on 13 June 2007 and sworn into office on 2007 July 15 for a seven-year term, becoming the 9th President of Israel. He also previously served as the 8th Prime Minister of Israel.
