Where is the flasher on a 1990 Nissan Maxima for the turn signals?

I believe it's next to the steering column, just forward of your right knee when you're sitting in the driver's seat. You first need to remove the 10mm bolts and 3 screws that secure the cover. There should be a black box that controls the stop/tail/turn signals. The harness has about 7 wires plugged into it.
