As you have to play Chess with two people, there aren't really any 'cheats' as such. It depends if you browse the internet you may find a way to beat computer players. If playing with real people my best tips would be to try and keep your king at the back. Also moving the pawn directly diagonal from the bishop at the very beginning of the game, leaves you free to sneakily move your bishop along the whole board either way to attack. You can use this cheat with the pawn directly diagonal from the Queen and straight in front of the castle to free up these important pieces. As the knight can jump over pawns, this doesn;t occur with this Chess piece.
