Lighter has new wick but very hard to light?

before you put the wick in you need to get a little bowl of Zippo fluid. Soak the wick in it for 5 minuets then allow it to dry then insert it into the zippo and then add zippo fluid to the lighter and set upsdie down for 5min then flip over and dry off top and use zippo.
