What do i do when a guy tells me he likes me and doesn't call me the next day?

I think a big part of the answer to this question depends on the age of the person asking. Assuming you are somewhat younger, I would say if the guy says he likes you but then ignores you, it is probably because he is nervous.

When a guy likes a girl, he can become nervous and tongue-tied, because he may be very self-conscious about what he should or shouldn't say around the girl he likes.

This doesn't mean he doesn't like you back, it means exactly the opposite, that he probably does like you. I remember when I was younger and girls would get confused when I liked them and I was too nervous to speak much with them.

If you think you and this guy could have a special relationship, maybe try to reassure the guy, and let him know that you're you're just a normal person like everyone else, and that maybe you're a bit nervous yourself when he's around. It's normal to be nervous around someone you like. You (and he) just have to get past the nerves and try to find something you all can talk about. Maybe start out trying to find a subject to talk about that you both enjoy (school, sports, hobbies, etc.).

Overall, the one mistake I see girls (of any age) make, is when they assume the guy should do ALL the talking and ALL the "work". If you really like the guy, sometimes you have to actually try to make the conversation work too. Don't think it should be ALL the guy's responsibility to 1. Initiate conversation 2. Continue conversation 3. Ask you out 4. Call you 5. Pay for the date... You see where I'm going. Don't get me wrong here, you must be a "proper" lady (or girl) and behave yourself, but at the same time, don't make the mistake of insisting that the guy do EVERYTHING. I often see girls who do this, and its their own mistake to presume that the guy has to do everything under the sun just to go out or start a relationship with a girl. Girls can introduce themselves to guys just as easy as vice versa. Not to mention, he will like the confidence you display when you initiate conversation or give him a ringy ding.
