What are the steps to sighting in a scope on a rifle?

Be certain that the scope is properly and firmly mounted. At 25 yds from a shooting bench, aim at center of target, fire 3 shots. Check bullet impact on target, adjust scope crosshairs to move center of 3 shot group to center of target. Fire another 3 shot group to confirm.
