Why are there so many stink bugs in new jersey now?

Originally, the area that is now New Jersey was simply a landfill to the north of Delaware Bay used by most of heavily populated cities on the eastern seaboard. Over time, the landfill had encompassed several thousand square miles. Unscrupulous land developers started leveling out and building lots on top of these dump sites. Vagabonds and the like purchased these dubious properties as low cost housing. Many decades later, the landfill has begun to rot. In many areas, the state has begun to pour thick concrete in attempts to entomb the decay, but the odors seep through tiny fissures in the concrete. Alas, some experts believe the only way to cure the rotting foundation is with controlled burns of majors areas of the state.

Also to clarify it's north Jersey that's stinks not south!
