when i attend an interview, what is very important to me is first of all how i am greeted, i know if it isn't a very nice welcome. Once I'm in my interview i think the only thing you should be doing is two things letting the employers know your reliable, honest and give 100% in your work and stay late if necessary. But for me the most important thing i learnt in an interview that stopped me getting the job is when i was asked "what do you know about the company". I now do my research on the company's I'm attending the interview at and i think it is very important that you find out much about the business as possible and you can explain what you like about about the company, but most importantly you will be able to tell them things about the company and whats been going on such as year from year. i think this should be good enough for me in an interview. And always make eye contact this is important

Like many interview questions this question falls into the category of "Questions You SHould Expect" as such you should prepare and rehearse an answer that will show you in your best light. If you want to work for the firm the answer is not so much what you want as what you want them to hear that means you are their type of person. Typically you should include ideas like "I would like to work for a company that:

  • is fair and open with its employees
  • is growing
  • offers opportunities for advancement
  • offers training to do my job better
  • employs modern equipment and systems
  • values honest effort
  • is open
  • is honest
  • is environmentally sound
  • doesn't produce weapons
  • doesn't work in 3rd world countries using sweatshops
  • has opportunities for foreign assignment
  • and so on

It is important to know the nature and business of the firm you are applying to and tailor your response to their needs, wants or direction. A company supplying arms and mercenaries would nor want a person with anti-war sentiments. a vegan company might not want a person who wants to grill steaks perfectly, and a white power organization might not want to hire an equal rights type.
