The cottonmouth fish, also known as the water moccasin, is a venomous snake native to the southeastern United States. It is known for its dark coloration and distinctive white mouth, which it displays when threatened. Cottonmouths prefer to live in wetland habitats such as swamps, marshes, and slow-moving streams. They are Excellent swimmers and can often be found near water sources where they hunt for prey such as fish, frogs, and small mammals. Cottonmouths are generally solitary and will only interact with other snakes during mating season.
