The noun morning is an abstract noun, a part of a day, a Word for a concept.

If the noun morning was a concrete noun, when the daylight did not distinguish the time of day, which can happen in certain parts of the world at certain times of the year; or if the sky filled to black with volcanic ash or an eclipse of the sun, the 'morning' could, in effect, be 'shut off'.
