Flamingos primarily inhabit shallow waters, such as lagoons, mudflats, and estuaries, where they can find food like algae and small crustaceans. They often wade in the water to feed, using their unique beaks to filter food from the mud and water. While they are mostly associated with aquatic environments, they do also rest and nest on land, typically on islands or isolated areas to protect their nests from predators.
