Is shell gas better then others?

If you think it is, it is. Shell is one of the companies that makes the "Top Tier" gas Volkswagen likes you to use, so it's a quality fuel...but it's probably no better or worse than the other Top Tier fuels. Check http://www.toptiergas.com for a list of companies that sell this gas.
