Why is it important to make sure all the equipment works on a fire truck?

Fire trucks are used in emergency situations. Many times that a fire truck is brought out in answer to a call, someone's life is in danger. That would be a terrible time for the firefighters' equipment to fail. Therefore, it is important that inspections, repairs and replacements are done while there are no emergencies.
