What inspired The Sweater Song by Hedley?

Alright, most people wouldn't know this but a lot of Newfoundlander's go to Alberta to work because Alberta has many more jobs and they get paid better up there, where he says he 'Sweats a lot and smells of dirt' he's talking about the work up there in construction. Or so, I figure this is what it's about. Being a Newfie myself I've gone through this with a few family members, though I do have friends who have gone through it with girlfriends/boyfriends. So yeah, that's what I think it's about/inspired by.
