Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected President of the United States four times, serving from 1933 until his death in 1945. He is the only president to have served more than two terms, which led to the ratification of the 22nd Amendment in 1951, limiting presidents to two terms. Other presidents, like Grover Cleveland, served two non-consecutive terms but were elected only twice.
