Can antibiotics interfere with the pill?

Yes, antibiotics decrease the effects of the pill and you may potentially become pregnant. Alternative forms of contraception should be used while taking antibiotics. My physicians have always told me to continue alternative contraception for at least 2 weeks after you have finished the antibiotics so that the pill has ample time to become fully effective again.
