- Gibraltar (30,000)
- Vatican City (under 1,000)
In Central Europe -
- Serbia (around 8 million) and the Serbian province of Kosovo (2 million)
- Bosnia Hercegovina (around 4 million)
- Albania (over 3.5 million)
- Macedonia (over 2 million)
- Montenegro (around 700,000)
In Eastern Europe -
- Russia (over 142 million)
- Turkey (over 70 million)
- Ukraine (over 46 million)
- Belarus (over 10 million)
- Azerbaijan (under 8 million)
- Georgia (under 5 million)
- Moldova (over 4 million)
- Armenia (over 3 million)
So there are quite a few European countries not in the EU but the majority of the population of Europe lives in the EU. The biggest countries not in the EU are Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Belarus.
