Where is the thermostat located and how do you replace it on a 1997 Toyota Camry LE?

first drain the coolant from the radiator. then you follow the lower radiator hose toward the engine. it takes you right to where the thermostat housing is located. remove the 2 10mm nuts and the stat is right there. install a new gasket on the new part and set it back in the housing making sure the vent (the hole with the little barbell in it) is pointing to 12:00. reinstall the 2 nuts and refill the coolant through the readiator cap.
