No. They have similar effects on the bowel but work in very different ways and and are not chemically related. You may be allergic to both but this would be a coincidence rather than a causal relationship.

Unfortunately, I am allergic to Codeine, and am unable to take: Imodium, Morphine, Vicodin, Oxycodone, or anything similar. Imodium makes everything 100 times worse: the diarrhea, stomach cramps, then add vomiting. The only thing I can take for pain is Demerol, because it is 100% synthetic, so be careful with

Imodium even though it's over the counter. I assume everyone is different.
