Are iPhones compatible with Verizon

The iphone currently cannot aquire Verizon due to the contract between Apple and AT&T. However, two Verizon employees told the press that Verizon will be available to the iphone in January 2011. This is just another rumor of course, but there will be for sure and iphone on Verizon either the summer of 2011 or 2012. If this Verizon iphone happens, the sales will sky rocket and it would be the most used and successful phone in the world.
