Was trapper john killed on MASH?

On the CBS television series M*A*S*H (1972-83), Trapper John McIntyre left Korea when he was called back to the States to complete his service. He made the trip successfully. It was Col Henry Blake who was shot down over the Sea of Japan when he was on his way home to process out of the active Army.
