What do Muslims do when someone dies?

They wash his body. Wrap it in three new white sheets of cloth, offer Death Prayer and request Almighty God to forgive his sins and be Merciful to Him. Then they bury the body in a grave. His relatives pray to Almighty Allah to forgive him. They may recite holy Qur'an and do charity for the salvation of the departed soul. Crying and beating chest is prohibited in Islam, yet one may weep silently. Feelings of grief are common to humane humans. It is better to be patient.
